Studio Policies
Tuition & Payments
Tuition is due on the 1st of each month and is considered late after the 10th. Annual tuition is divided into nine equal monthly payments and remains the same regardless of holidays, studio closures, vacations, or absences.
A $25 late fee applies to balances not paid by the 10th. Credit card transactions are subject to a convenience fee. Families enrolled in Auto-Pay authorize Dance Expressions to charge the payment method on file for account balances on applicable due dates.
Accounts must remain current for continued participation.
Registration
A non-refundable annual registration fee of $40 per student or $75 per family is required. Enrollment is not guaranteed until the registration fee has been paid.
Class placement and changes are subject to availability and, when applicable, instructor approval.
Attendance & Make-Up Classes
Tuition is not prorated, refunded, or credited for missed classes.
Approved make-up classes are encouraged when available, especially from September through December. Once recital choreography begins in January, make-up opportunities may be limited or unavailable.
Withdrawals & Class Changes
To withdraw from a class, families must submit the Withdrawal Form at least 30 days before the desired withdrawal date.
Tuition and applicable fees remain due during the 30-day notice period. Class changes and transfers are subject to availability and instructor approval when applicable.
Annual Performance & Costumes
Students enrolled in recital classes are automatically included in our Annual Performance unless a Recital Opt-Out Form is submitted by the published deadline. Dress rehearsal attendance is required to participate unless prior approval is received from studio management.
Costume fees are divided into two payments due November 1 and January 1. The recital fee is due March 1. Recital and costume fees are non-refundable.
Classroom Viewing
Dance Expressions maintains a closed-classroom policy to provide dancers with a focused learning environment. Parents may observe classes on the monitors provided in the studio lobby.
Arrival & Pickup
Students should arrive prepared for class and no more than 10 minutes before class begins. Parents and guardians are responsible for supervision before and after class and for prompt pickup.
Parents of dancers who may need restroom assistance are encouraged to remain at the studio during class.
Weather & Studio Closures
Weather and emergency closures are communicated through email, the studio app, website, and social media.
Dance Expressions generally considers De Soto and Olathe school district closures when making weather decisions but may make an independent decision based on conditions affecting the studio.
Schedule Changes
Class, rehearsal, performance, and event schedules are subject to change when necessary. Families will be notified of changes through studio communication channels.
Photography & Video
Families who do not wish to grant permission for photography or videography may submit a Photo & Video Release Form.
Dance Expressions will make reasonable efforts to honor restrictions; however, complete exclusion from group photos, performance recordings, and media captured at public events cannot be guaranteed.
Safety & Participation
Dance, tumbling, acrobatics, rehearsals, performances, competitions, and other physical activities involve inherent risks. Applicable acknowledgments, waivers, and releases are included as part of registration.
Students are expected to follow instructor directions, dress requirements, and studio safety procedures during all Dance Expressions activities.
Dance Expressions is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property.
Complete studio policies, payment authorizations, acknowledgments, and releases are provided during registration and apply to all enrolled families.
