Hi Dance Family!
Although it's cloudy and raining, YOU can choose to BE YOUR OWN SUNSHINE!
Let’s jump into a few important Dance Out talking points:
Dance Out Schedule & Attachments
The Dance Out schedule is attached along with a couple of other helpful documents.
Please make sure to check carefully for your dancer’s day, time, and stage—there are 2 stages at the KCI Expo Center, so double check which one your routines are on!

General Guidelines:
1. Shared Dressing Areas: As dressing areas will be shared with dancers from other studios, we kindly ask that parents remind their children to be mindful of the space they’re using and to show courtesy to others. It is essential that we maintain a respectful atmosphere. Additionally, please remind everyone to pick up all trash and take their belongings with them upon leaving the area. As a reminder, there will be absolutely NO pictures or videos allowed in the dressing areas.
2. Food and Drinks: To maintain cleanliness and respect in our venue, please inform parents that food and drinks are not allowed inside the dressing areas. We appreciate your cooperation with this guideline.
3. Photography and Videos: To ensure the privacy and safety of all performers, we have a strict policy against photography and video recording of any routine during the performance. This includes video chatting via Facetime. However, we will allow photos and videos during the awards ceremonies, so please feel free to capture those special moments!
Dance Out will NOT be sharing photos or videos through the Dakiki app this season. Instead, performance videos(only) will be sent directly to the studio director for them to distribute as they choose.
4. Schedule: It’s important to note that we may run ahead of schedule, so we encourage everyone to be ready to dance at least 1 ½ hours before their scheduled performance time. We will do our utmost to keep you updated on any changes through our social media channels and the Dakiki App.
5. Live Streaming: After careful consideration, Dance Out has made the difficult decision to refrain from live streaming our upcoming event. This decision was taken with the utmost regard for the safety and security of our dancers, clients, and participants. While live streaming may seem appealing, it poses various risks, including potential costume malfunctions that could infringe upon the privacy of our young performers. We also cannot guarantee who may have access to the footage, which brings up safety concerns. By not live streaming, we can create a more controlled and secure environment for everyone involved. We appreciate your understanding as we navigate this decision; our priority is always the safety and well-being of your children. Thank you for your support and cooperation as we prepare for what promises to be an incredible weekend filled with talent and creativity. If you have any questions or need further clarification, please do not hesitate to reach out. Wishing everyone safe travels and an enjoyable experience!
Understudies
Understudies, it’s vital that you're ready to step in at a moment’s notice.
You do not need to be in costume, but you must be:
At the venue
With hair and makeup done
Backstage with the group, ready to jump in if needed
Headpieces & Feathers
These pieces are very fragile and can easily break.
We recommend using a box or container for storage—throwing them in a dance bag will likely damage them.
Production Shirts
We still have a few shirts in the office waiting to be picked up—stop by if you haven’t grabbed yours yet!
“If you want to be happy, you have to be happy on purpose. When you wake up, you can't just wait to see what kind of day you'll have. You have to decide what kind of day you'll have.”— Unknown
Blessings on your weekend!
